About the Fox Cities, Wisconsin Real Estate Wisconsin's Shopping Place
Welcome to Wisconsin's Fox Cities!

The Fox Cities of northeast Wisconsin are the cities, towns and villages along the Fox River as it flows from Lake Winnebago northward into Green Bay. Together they form the core of the third largest metropolitan area of Wisconsin with a population exceeding 220,000. One of the nation’s longtime leading centers of papermaking and printing, the area is one of the 50 top manufacturing regions of the nation.
Wisconsin's Fox Cities offer visitors urban style in 18 communities that haven't lost their small town warmth, safety or affordability. Excellent facilities, great shopping, arts and nightlife are all here in the Fox Cities. The Fox Cities communities include the Cities of Appleton, Kaukauna, Menasha and Neenah, the Towns of Kaukauna, Menasha, Neenah, Vanden Broek, Buchanan, Clayton, Freedom, Grand Chute, Greenville and Harrison and the Villages of Combined Locks, Hortonville, Kimberly, Little Chute and Sherwood.
The Fox Cities are Wisconsin's shopping place. Central to the Fox Cities’ experience is the Fox River Mall, Wisconsin’s second largest shopping mall with more than 180 retailers. Combined with adjacent retail development, the area represents the largest concentration of retail in Wisconsin. Beyond the mall, the galleries and specialty retailers in downtown Appleton and historic Neenah feature unique items and personalized service sure to please even the most discerning shopper.
Downtown Appleton, in the region's largest community, is the cultural heart of the Fox Cities. After a day of shopping, visitors enjoy a variety of dining, nightlife and entertainment options. The life and illusions of Appleton’s Harry Houdini are on display in “A.K.A. Houdini” at The History Museum at the Castle..
Appleton and Neenah school districts each received a 5-Star (Gold) rating by Expansion Management magazine’s ranking of metrowide public school systems, scoring 98 out of a possible 100 percent. Fox Valley Technical College is ranked among the top five such colleges in the nation, most notably for its distinguished programs in law enforcement, security and safety, flexographic printing and the culinary arts. And Lawrence University, located on the eastern edge of Downtown Appleton, earned recognition as one of U.S. News and World Report’s top 50 liberal arts colleges in the country.
The world's largest collection of glass paperweights is the focus at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum in Neenah. The paperweights have symbolic meaning in this historic “paper baron” town that is still home to many paper companies. The Bergstrom-Mahler Museum is the former home of local paper magnates the Bergstrom family and it is surrounded by several blocks of impeccably maintained turn of the last century mansions that housed the local paper aristocracy. The walk through this historic neighborhood along the shores of Lake Winnebago is one of the most beautiful in the Fox Cities.
The American Family Insurance Badger State Summer Games will move to the Fox Cities for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Games. The Games have been held in Madison since their inception in 1985.
